MapleStory Classic World Closed Test Shows Strong Magic Focus With U4N

The closed online test for MapleStory Classic World has given Nexon plenty of useful information about how players approach the game. The recently released statistics reveal a surprisingly active community, with participants consuming millions of items, defeating more than a thousand bosses, and pushing dozens of characters all the way to the level cap. For players watching MapleStory Classic World Items, the results also provide an interesting look at which classes and activities attracted the most attention.

Millions of Consumables Used
During the test period, players went through an impressive 9,912,979 consumables. That number shows just how much time participants spent fighting monsters, completing activities, and exploring the available content.

Consumables are an important part of the classic MapleStory experience because they support players during longer adventures. The huge amount used during testing suggests that participants were not simply logging in for short sessions. Many appeared determined to experience as much of the available game as possible before the test ended.

The statistic also gives the development team valuable information about resource usage. Understanding how quickly players consume supplies can help Nexon adjust item availability, progression speed, and the overall balance of the economy.

Bosses Faced Throughout the Test
Players also defeated 1,122 bosses during the closed test. King Slime was particularly popular, being defeated more than 5,000 times.

Boss encounters are an important part of character progression because they give players clear goals and opportunities to test their abilities. Repeated King Slime battles also show how willing participants were to return to familiar encounters and improve their characters.

These numbers can help developers understand which combat activities are attracting attention. If certain bosses prove especially popular, the team can use that information when designing future encounters and balancing rewards.

Magicians Took the Lead
Perhaps the most interesting statistic concerns class popularity. Magicians represented 39% of the characters created during the test, placing them comfortably ahead of the other available classes.

Thieves came next at 28%, followed by Warriors at 20% and Bowmen at 13%. The distribution suggests that players had clear preferences when selecting their characters.

The popularity of Magicians could encourage the development team to examine their early-game strengths, progression, and overall performance. High popularity does not automatically mean that a class is too powerful, but it can provide useful evidence when combined with combat and progression data.

Players Reached the Level Cap
More than 80 participants reached level 50 during the test. Considering that the closed test was limited in scope, reaching the maximum level required a significant investment of time.

Chief Product Officer Hanbyeol Oh, known to many players as Inkwell, described the achievement as exceeding the team's expectations. The result demonstrates that the community was highly motivated to explore the available progression system.

It also gives developers a valuable group of experienced testers who can provide feedback on late-game balance and character development.

Development Priorities Are Expanding
Following the test, Nexon outlined several areas that will receive attention. Combat and job balancing are among the biggest priorities, while the team is also preparing original content designed to preserve the classic feel.

World expansion is another planned improvement. Controller support, macOS compatibility, and additional language support are also being considered, potentially making the game more accessible to a broader audience.

Preparing for Another Test
The development team has confirmed that another test phase will take place before launch, although the schedule has not yet been announced. This additional testing period should provide another opportunity to evaluate balance changes and new systems.

For the community, the closed test statistics show that interest in the project is already substantial. As development continues, following MapleStory Classic World Items can help players stay aware of how progression and the game's broader systems are evolving.
